What "two-way sync" actually does for you
Bookings → your calendar (outbound)Every appointment someone books shows up in your personal Google Calendar, with reminders, like anything else you schedule.
Your busy times → block your slots (inbound)Doctor's appointment, school pickup, another meeting? Those hours vanish from your booking page so no one double-books you.
1
Open your Calendar Connections
Log into your dashboard. Click the Settings gear (bottom-left), then Calendars, then the Connections tab at the top.
Settings → Calendars → Connections
2
Pick yourself in "My Staff"
At the top you'll see a My Staff dropdown. Choose your own name — this connects your personal calendar to the account.
If more than one person takes appointments, each person repeats this guide under their own name.
3
Add your Google account
Under the Calendars sub-tab you'll see "No connections found." Click + Add new, choose Google, sign in with the Google account you actually use, and click Allow on every permission it asks for.
The permissions are what make the sync work — HighLevel needs to read your busy times and write new bookings in. Allow all of them.
4
Turn on both directions of the sync
Once Google is connected, you set two things — this is the part that makes it two-way:
- Add to calendar — pick the Google calendar where new bookings should appear (usually your main one). This is outbound.
- Check for conflicts — tick the calendar(s) HighLevel should read for busy times, so those hours block your slots. This is inbound.
Turn on both. One without the other is only half a sync.
5
(Optional) Auto-add a video link
On the Video conferencing sub-tab you can connect Google Meet or Zoom. Do this and every virtual booking gets a meeting link created and sent automatically.
6
Set your real availability
Go to Calendars → Meetings → your calendar → Availability and set the days and hours you actually take appointments. This is separate from the Google sync — it's when you're open; the sync is what's already taken.
Prove it works (2-minute test)
- Open your public booking link and book a test appointment on an open slot.
- Check your Google Calendar — the appointment should be sitting right there.
- In Google Calendar, create a "busy" event over another open slot.
- Refresh your booking link — that slot should now be gone. If both happened, your two-way sync is live.
